Listen carefully when they explain their benefits and check their facts.

2. Avoid MLM business groups that force new distributors to buy expensive products offered by the group. This could be another danger sign. Many pyramid groups force their new distributors to do just that because that increases the amount of money they make from you. Strongly reconsider being part of such group.

3. Be suspicious if someone promises more money through continued help in recruiting more distributors. While legitimate MLM companies have downlines (i.e., people that you recruit), your income is commission based. If you’re promised different set-ups, it could be another sign that you are part of an illegal pyramid scheme. Your upline may only have their own interest in mind.

4. You may not spend enough time or pay enough attention to your MLM business. It’s important to be persistent and to keep at it if you want your MLM business to flourish.
