How to Network Your Way to Success
Networking is a natural activity that you do every day. Seems unbelievable? Let’s take an evening out for example. You may go to the movie theater with your partner and watch a great movie with lots of action, a great plot and tangible suspense. You can’t stop talking about it on the way home after the movie. You even talk to your friends and neighbors about it. That’s networking.
What about sharing your experience with a new shampoo brand that left your hair so soft and shiny. Maybe you talked to all your girlfriends about it. Too bad you didn’t get a penny for every positive thing you said about that wonderful product. What if you could get money? Network marketing basically consists of selling products or services that you use and enjoy to your friends, family members or associates. These people are your very own network. You get the satisfaction of knowing that they are using quality products and you get paid! Should one of the people in your network decide to tell his or her friends about your products, they could also get paid from their sales.
Most everyday products and services can be sold through Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) or network marketing. Such marketing systems are a time-proven way to distribute products. Instead of using paid distributors to take products from the manufacturers and bring them to retail stores, MLM uses a network made up of independent salespeople to sell products or services to the consumer directly.
By being part of an MLM network, you receive a percentage or commission on each of your sale. The level of success is yours to determine. You can normally make a decent living by only selling the products. But if you want to make more, network marketing allows you to create a downline of people that you recruit. You support and help them and in return you receive a commission from their sales. MLM can be a powerful money-making machine but it doesn’t matter if you’re the best salesperson on earth, you only have a few hours everyday to sell. If you decide to recruit a downline, these people multiply your sales effort instantly. You can make money while you are on vacation, playing with the dog or sleeping! Your downline is hard at work and you reap the benefits.
You create a downline by bringing someone into your MLM program. Let’s say that you make a $1 commission on a bottle of shampoo when you sell it. If a person in your downline sells the same bottle of shampoo, they also receive $1 and you receive $0.25 for that same bottle of shampoo. If there are ten people in your downline and each person sells ten bottles of shampoo in a day, you’ve made $25 without doing any of the work. With 50 people, you can get $125. Use your imagination and think about what happens if your downline gets bigger? What if they sell more products or more expensive products?
Now that you know more about network marketing, you too can take an active step towards financial success.
