If you are given a task in the morning that has to be completed before you take off for the day, then you can split that project up in your mind based on the schedule of your normal day and then establish deadlines for yourself that will enable you to finish the task on schedule.

Sure, working from home means that you can set your own schedule, but it is critical that you go about setting a routine each day that will allow you to still set those personal deadlines that can help you get work finished when it needs to be finished. If you do not get involved in a daily routine, then you will find it more difficult to focus on your tasks as time go by.

Understanding that you need to be in your home office by a certain time and then set yourself break times throughout your day that you stay with, then you can be more certain to get all of the business done that you need to get completed in the course of a day.

If you work from home then you obviously have the ability to stretching your day so that you get more jobs finished and make more income. But at the core of your day there needs to be a routine that you are commited to that will keep you moving through your day and enable you to finish tasks when needed. That routine can begin right when you wake up in the morning, as it would if you worked for someone else in an office, and take you right up to a pre-scheduled quitting hour.

You may find that after some time staying with a rigid routine no longer suits your work from home employment, and that is perfectly OK. If you have determined that you can work outside a schedule and get your work done then you have adjusted to working from home and you are now motivated by your own successes rather than the need to have a workday routine. But the adjustment to working from home is extremely hard for many people, and establishing a daily routine can help you focus on your business and succeed in your attempt to work from/at home.
