Multi Level Marketing Recruiting Exposed
“Am I required to know and enroll many people in an MLM program to be successful?” is a frequently asked question.
A response from many upline sponsors typically is something similar to the following…
“No, if you sponsor just one person every month or so, you can be very successful in Network Marketing, and create a great residual income.
They will go on to tell you that the people you sponsor do not have to come from your “warm market,” (that is, your friends, relatives, and people you already know). They say, just think of all the people you converse with every day in your normal activities!
But then they turn around and tell you to write down a list of everyone you know, even from a casual relationship. They say to list everyone you can think of for example, people you work with, go to church with, people you do business with, people you went to school with, people you knew before you moved to your present location, etc. and you will be amazed by the number of people that end up on your list.
Will all or even most of these people join you in your Multi Level Marketing business? Probably not, but statistics show that one out of every one hundred names will make your car payment, one will make your house payment and one will retire you!
Three out of every one hundred people you contact is certainly achievable but you have to actually go out and contact the one hundred people. Some of them may not be interested themselves, but they mightknow someone who might be and they refer that person to you. This referral process expands your list.
Have you ever been turned down 97 times? That is a lot of rejection. And initially these rejections come from people you know, so the rejection is even more difficult. Most people will not last that long.
How many people do you know who can go out and face 100 people they know and get turned away by 97 of them and just continue to keep plugging along trying to recruit or sell products to an disinterested market?
Technically, the answer above from the sponsor can be correct if you are fortunate enough to recruit someone that has all the necessary skills and goes on to become a “heavy hitter” in the company. And depending upon your company’s compensation plan, that person might be able to carry you along.
If you do take this approach, the odds of you landing a “heavy hitter” who will quickly create a large downline beneith you is very unlikely if you are only recruiting “one person every month or two.”
So what are your alternatives if you can’t recruit a “heavy hitter” early in you MLM recruiting efforts and you do not look forward to the thought of being rejected by 97 out of every one hundred people you contact?
Instead of seeking out all your friends and family members and rapidly becoming a member of the NFL (No Friends Left) club, or bugging everyone within 30 feet of you as advocated by some sponsors, you need to narrow down your target market. Everyone is not your target market. Your target market is made up of people who are already wanting to start a home business, to earn extra money on a part-time basis, are looking for a Multi Level Marketing company to join or are already a member of some other MLM business. You can even further narrow down your niche to only the latter group if you desire. Then encourage them to come to you and get them to join your company by employing a soft sell technique instead of the hard sell methods pushed by many MLM sponsors.
“And just how do you do that?”, you might ask.
You accomplish this by first offering your target market a funded proposal or free report relevant to your market and developing a mailing or contact list from the funded proposal sales process. You then develop a positive relationship with your list members through frequent contact and by providing them useful information.
If you have correctly identified your market, prospects will soon be calling you for guidance and asking how they can become a member of your team.
